If you’ve been wondering whether you should start your wellness business, you probably know that taking the first steps can be really difficult. With all of the mind chatter, you might have a mind full of negative thoughts about what could go wrong or if you really have what it takes.
I can tell you that you do have what it takes because, with all of the wealth of information out there, you can learn and become better at almost anything. If you have a true passion for something in the wellness industry, continue reading to see if starting a business in it is right for you.
The wellness industry has grown substantially in the past decade and only continues to grow. Regardless of which are of wellness you are interested in, there is a great chance it is seeing some great growth. If you want to take a look at various wellness trends, you can check out my previous post on that here.
As you probably are aware just by reading this post, the internet is an amazing tool that can reach millions of people from your own home. You have access to all the information you can imagine, as well as the people that need what you have to offer.
With the internet, you can have the start of a business up just after creating a website. When before you would have to find a brick and mortar location and handle all of the logistics and money involved in starting. While designing a new website can seem like a large task, next to securing a building and opening up shop, it seems pretty easy. And it can be!
Along with it being easier, it’s a lot more affordable. Many businesses now can start with very little cash and build as they go. In a world where you can make money with almost none to start with, it’s crucial to take advantage. You don’t want to miss out on this opportunity to be able to start a business you love with such little money.
According to the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the average cost of starting a business is $30,000. When you are starting as an online business, these costs are much, much lower.
If your passion requires a brick and mortar, you could find creative ways to start online to build a savings you can use to open your business locally.
If you’re reading this post with something in mind, chances are you have a passion for something. Since we have the ability to learn anything we want, the only prerequisite that money can’t buy is passion. Growing a business takes a lot of patience and willingness to continue far past the excitement stage. This means passion will get you much further in your journey. If you have a passion for something, it can be enough to carry you through to the finish line.
If you think you’re too old or too deep into a chaotic life, think again. Another thing you can use the internet for is to read the stories from people all over who have done amazing things later in life or in a really tough situation. People turn their lives around and stand as a great inspiration for everyone else.
If you have a business pursuit you can’t stop thinking about, going after it is your only chance at creating the life and fulfillment you truly want. If you pass on the opportunity that we all have, you will never know what would have happened had you taken the leap.
I am SO guilty of this one. Wanting to make everything perfect before launching or getting started can really hinder your success. Sometimes your “almost best” is plenty to change and impact someone’s life for the better.
If we wait until everything is perfect or we know everything, we may never launch. And if we do, it is probably much later than we would have otherwise, meaning we lose out on all of that time of potential growth our businesses could have used.
I’ve had clients that want me to put out their ad campaign but block their friends and family from seeing it. It’s common. People often worry a ton about what others think. It’s a shame because it can really hold you back from starting your business and seeing your true potential.
We all serve our purpose here and all have something valuable to bring. While there may be similar businesses to your business idea already about there, it can be completely different coming from you. You come from a different place with different experience and ways of achieving things. With this, you bring something new to the table.
If you never come forward to serve the world with what you have, the world will always be without it. You have to believe in your ability to give something valuable.
One thing I love about this industry is that it makes real impacts on people’s lives. People often go to wellness professionals or purchase wellness products to make something better in their lives. There is a problem they need to fix.
All the things the industry gives people allows them to live happier and healthier lives and that is a great reason to join fellow wellness entrepreneurs!
There are a ton of great reasons why you should start your wellness business. I could go on and on, but what happens if you don’t? What is the alternative for you?
If the alternative is that your stay with your current fulfilling life, then that’s great. Stick with that and be happy! That is what life is all about. But if the alternative is that you live a life always wondering what would have happened if you went for it, not taking action might not be worth the risk.
